Collingwood Recreation Society together with Our Community Bikes is offering youth bike repair workshops to help youth ages 12-18 learn basic bike maintenance and repair skills in a fun and welcoming environment.
Date and time: Friday, May 29, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Place: Slocan Park Hall, 2750 East 29th Avenue, Vancouver, just steps away from 29th Avenue Station.
Cost: Pay what you can.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes.

Youth will learn:
- How to check tire pressure
- How to fix a flat tire
- How to clean and oil a bike chain
- How to check brakes and gears
- How to do a simple bike safety check before riding
These workshops are beginner-friendly and open to all skill levels. No experience is needed. The workshops are designed to help youth:
- Build confidence
- Learn practical skills
- Ride more safely
- Stay active and connected in the community
Workshop activities are based on a basic bike maintenance program that includes tire checks, brake inspections, chain care, shifting systems, and simple repairs.
